# The Mac permissions Sayonic needs

Sayonic needs the microphone to hear you, Accessibility to click and type, Screen Recording to see the front window, and Automation to work with apps. Calendar and file access are optional.

## What each permission is for

Each permission covers one thing Sayonic does for you.

| Permission | What it's for |
| --- | --- |
| Microphone | To hear you. |
| Accessibility | To click, press keys and type for you, and to read the labels on screen. |
| Screen Recording | To see the front window when a brain asks. |
| Automation | To work with apps such as Chrome, Safari and Notes. |
| Calendar (optional) | To add events. Adding only. |
| Files and Folders, Full Disk Access (optional) | To find and open files you ask for. |

## Turn a permission off

You can turn any of these off in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

## Questions

**Why does it need so many permissions?**

It needs the microphone to hear you, Accessibility to click and type, Screen Recording to see the front window, and Automation to work with apps like Chrome, Safari and Notes. Calendar, Files and Folders, and Full Disk Access are only for the features that use them.

**Is my audio saved?**

No. Audio isn't saved. See the privacy page for what the app does with your data.
